Jeremiah Andrew Denton Jr. (July 15, 1924 – March 28, 2014) was a U.S. Senator representing Alabama from 1981 to 1987, a United States Navy Rear Admiral, and Naval Aviator taken captive during the Vietnam War.

Here is an amazing story of an incredibly brave and smart soldier who was fighting in the Vietnam war, and ended up being held captive as a POW(Prisoners Of war). He seized an opportunity while being interviewed by a foreign journalist, and sent a secret decoded morse code message through a series of blinks in hopes that the US military would send help!
